Bath Drama's Spring Production of Ai Wei Wei opens tonight

Bath Drama’s spring production is Howard Brenton’s acclaimed play, ‘The Arrest of Ai WeiWei’, first performed in London in 2012, based on real and recent events.

On a cold April day, global superstar artist Ai WeiWei was seized at Beijing Airport. He disappeared into a world of shadows for 81 days before being dumped at his studio door, forbidden to speak about his ordeal. The play tells the true story of the terror, comedy and frustration of those days.

Strong acting, original music, dramatic lighting and a vivid art show will combine to make this a production not to be missed.
