Well done to the cast and crew of 4000 Miles – I am so glad that the patience of the team has finally paid off to bring this show to an audience. It’s a fantastic script – Amy Herzog finds comedy at the most unexpected moments which just serves to bring the poignancy of this quiet play to the fore. The relationship between the youthful, bereaved, idealistic hippie and his empathetic yet worldly-wise and sharp-tongued grandmother is immediately evident and played to perfection by Josh and Yvonne. Their sensitivity to the brutality of both youth and age is compelling to watch. The whole cast are confident in their roles and deliver a thought-provoking extract of modern day life. A night of excellent theatre to welcome me back to The Rondo – thank you to all involved.
