After suffering a major loss while on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo
seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother Vera in her West Village
apartment. Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates
infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other. 4000 MILES looks at how
two outsiders find their way in today’s world.
All characters are American and accents are required.
Vera Playing Age 80/90
A 90 something-year-old woman, a little frail and hard of hearing but independent and

Leo Playing Age 21
A 20 something guy on a spiritual journey as much as a physical one. Coping with the loss of
his friend, he seeks solace in his travel and finds resolution with his grandmother, Vera.

Physically fit, cares for Leo but no longer wants to be his girlfriend.
No prior preparation is necessary.
